Hemosmart Gold Hemoglobin Test Strips
For the quantitative measurement of hemoglobin in whole blood the in the range of 7 g/dL to 24 g/dL.
HemoSmart GOLD Blood Hemoglobin Test Strips are designed specifically for use with fresh capillary whole blood taken from a fingertip and venous whole blood. Plasma, serum samples CAN NOT be used. Testing must be performed immediately after the sample is obtained.
Blood hemoglobin test results are shown on the monitor display as g/dL. Reference hematocrit value are shown at the same time.

HemoSmart GOLD Hemoglobin Screening System is designed to provide an easy, accurate method for the determination of hemoglobin value in capillary whole blood.When blood is applied to the reaction zone of the test strip, a signal correlates with the concentration of hemoglobin in the blood sample is transmitted to HemoSmart GOLD Blood Hemoglobin Meter for calculation.
The quantitative result will be displayed on the large, easy to read LCD screen after 5 seconds.
Before testing, make sure the following:
1. Check if the test strip is within the expiration date printed on the test strip box.
2. Check if the code number of the test strip in use matches the number displayed on in the meter.
3. Check meter performance with the monitor checker.
Reagent Composition
Each cm2 of test strip contains the following reactive ingredients in the approximate concentrations listed below:
• Electron Shuttle 0.14 mg
• Reactive Oxygen Material 0.22mg
• Cell Lysis Material 2.4mg
Warnings and Precautions
HemoSmart GOLD Blood Hemoglobin Test Strips are for (IN VITRO) diagnostic use only. HemoSmart GOLD Blood Hemoglobin Test Strips can be used by healthcare personnel.
• Do not use test strips after their expiration date.
• Do not use test strips that are wet, bent, scratched, or damaged in any way.
• Do not touch the target area of the test strip.
• Do not re-use the strips.
• Calibrate your meter with the code card of each new package of test strips.
• The screen will show "LO" when the whole blood hemoglobin value is less than 7.0 g/dL, or" HI" when the value is more than 24.0 g/dL.
Limitations
HemoSmart GOLD Test Strips are designed for use with fresh capillary and venous whole blood samples DO NOT use serum, plasma samples.
• Neonates and children: Do not use HemoSmart GOLD test strips to test neonates and children. The performance of this system has not been validated with neonatal samples and children’s samples.
• Abnormal blood specimens (i.e., salicylic acid higher than therapeutic concentration) may affect the results. Blood hemoglobin readings from these cases should be interpreted with caution.
Storage
The HemoSmart GOLD Blood Hemoglobin Test Strips are packaged in a moisture proof, light protected bottle or individually foil wrapped test strips.
• Store at temperatures between 4°C to 30°C (39°F to 86°F).
• Keep away from direct heat and sunlight.
• Do not freeze.
• Do not bend, cut, or alter the test strips in any way.
• Use within 1 month after first opening the bo tle. Do not handle the strips with wet or dirty hands.
• For optimal venous blood hemoglobin testing result, we recommend that your venous blood sample is collected with a syringe containing no anticoagulant(such as EDTA , sodium citrate or heparin-sodium fluoride) to minimize interferences.
• Altitudes up to 3000 meters (9842 feet) do not affect test results.
